Kelsey Trail
At the turn of the 20th century, the Kelsey Trail connected the town of highlands to Whiteside Mountain through five miles of old-growth primeval forest. Today the Kelsey Trail winds through Canada hemlock and oak-dominated forest communities characteristic of the southern Appalachians.
